The renowned Castlebay Bar is well known for its local music and live bands that play through out the summer. It is a fun and vibrant place to enjoy music in the evening after dinner in the hotel. The Castlebay Bar was originally built to serve the huge numbers of people involved in the Herring Fishing in the early 1900s. Today it is the best place in Barra to meet local folk and other visitors to the island in a relaxed, friendly setting. It is home to the the famous Vatersay Boys who still make an appearance from time to time and have built up a loyal following.
Soup and toasties are served in the bar from 12.30pm to 5pm throughout the summer.
